EFF is working in partnership with the Alem organization to provide financial assistance to poor mothers/caregivers who have no means to begin work or start a business.  Our program provides financial, educational and social support to these women and their children.      more information...

Kids Help Kids

EFF is passionate about giving children in America opportunities to help others less fortunate. It is vital to introduce the importance of humanitarianism at a young age as well as having personal relationships with kids from different cultures. Roman's Girls

Roman is the past Director of the girls’ educational program at Unity College in Addis Ababa. She is an advisory board member of EFF and oversees our education sponsorship program. EFF in partnership with Wemsco, Women of the Street and their Children" have identified 20 young girls who have a family structure but do not have the funds to attend school. Children's Village
Desta Meghoo founded the Children’s Village in October 2005.  An attorney by profession, she moved to Ethiopia as a development consultant but she could not turn away from the destitute children in Addis Ababa who she saw living on the streets everyday begging, hungry, tired and in need of love and care.  Children’s Village goal is to eradicate homelessness amongst children in Addis Ababa and end the cycle of begging.  The aim is to provide education, opportunities, encouragement, health intervention and care to those children who have been orphaned due to HIV/AIDS and other tragedies.  Read more about this incredible project.  more information...

Medical Needs - Dr. Rick Hodes
Rick Hodes M.D. received his medical training in Rochester and Baltimore.  He was honored with a Fulbright scholarship to teach in Addis Ababa in 1985 and has spent the last 2 decades in Africa saving lives.   Dr. Rick, as he is affectionately called in Ethiopia, is on staff at hospitals in Addis Ababa and Gondar, however his passion is caring for the severely ill at Mother Theresa’s Mission for the Destitute and Dying as a volunteer.  Learn more about how Dr. Rick saves the lives of children that other people have forgotten and how you can help. more information...
