Last summer, Jacob Silvers traveled to Ethiopia with his family, where they adoped two young boys. Prior to leaving, Jacob had read Dr. Rick Hodes’ book, and was able to connect with Marla, who put him in touch with Dr. Rick. Jacob was so impressed with the work that Dr. Rick was doing in Ethiopia that he decided to donate any money he raises through his bar mitzvah to Dr. Rick. In Jacob’s words: “I admire Dr.Hodes for all he does and wanted to help him and help my brothers’ homeland.”
